We don't track you. We don't collect your data. We don't even know you exist. De-Ad is 100% offline, runs entirely on your device, and never communicates with any servers. Your browsing history stays in Safari—we never see it.
1. Information We DON'T Collect
De-Ad is built on a simple principle: we don't want your data.
- Browsing history
- Personal information (name, email, location, etc.)
- Device identifiers or analytics
- Usage statistics or telemetry
- Crash reports or diagnostics
- IP addresses or network data
// TECHNICAL_NOTE
De-Ad uses Safari's Content Blocker API. By design, this API prevents apps from seeing what websites you visit. Safari handles all blocking locally on your device.
2. How De-Ad Works
De-Ad operates entirely offline:
- We provide Safari with a blocklist of ~45,000 rules
- Safari's WebKit engine enforces these rules locally
- No network requests are made by De-Ad
- No data leaves your device
Think of De-Ad as a filter you install in your browser. We give Safari the instructions, but Safari does all the work—without us watching.
3. In-App Purchases
De-Ad offers optional Pro themes via one-time purchase. Handled by Apple & RevenueCat.
What's stored:
- Simple true/false Pro status (locally on your device)
- Anonymous purchase receipt (via RevenueCat)
What we never see: Your payment info, name, email.
4. Third-Party Services
De-Ad uses only one third-party service:
RevenueCat (Purchase Processing)
Handles Pro unlock verification. Collects anonymous purchase receipts only.
Everything else (Safari blocking, app UI) runs 100% offline.
5. Data Storage
All data stored by De-Ad remains on your device:
- Theme preferences (stored locally using UserDefaults)
- Pro purchase status (cached locally, synced via RevenueCat)
- Blocklist rules (~45k rules, bundled with the app)
No cloud storage. No remote servers. No data synchronization.
6. Children's Privacy
De-Ad does not knowingly collect data from anyone—including children under 13. Since we don't collect any personal information, De-Ad is safe for all ages.
7. Your Rights
Since we don't collect your data, there's nothing to:
- Request (we don't have it)
- Delete (it doesn't exist)
- Export (there's nothing to export)
- Correct (we never stored it)
Your privacy is protected by default.
8. Changes to This Policy
If we ever change how De-Ad handles data (spoiler: we won't), we'll update this page and notify users via an app update.
