Privacy-first software studio since 2011
Our story began in the Objective-C era with Fact File. While the world was obsessed with data-mining, we were building standalone, offline-first knowledge apps. No tracking, no login—just content delivered directly to the user.
Captured the early App Store zeitgeist with a series of viral soundboards. This era taught us the power of owning your platform and staying independent.
Took a deep detour into the Android ecosystem. We spent years with custom ROMs and root-level toolkits like XPrivacy and AdFree. Working under-the-hood to block data-hungry SDKs solidified our belief that privacy is only possible when software is built without hidden backdoors.
Returned to the Apple ecosystem to leverage privacy-focused hardware. Developed Defndr (offline SMS filtering), iQuake, and Maphrodite. We proved that high-performance apps don't need to "phone home" to be useful.
Dro1d Labs is evolving into a cross-media studio. We are blurring the lines between software and storytelling with interactive book-apps and experimental gaming. Projects like NullKit exemplify this shift—merging deep technical utility with long-form content.
Privacy isn't a feature—it's the foundation. We design every app to work 100% offline with zero data collection.
Many of our apps are open source and publicly auditable on GitHub. Transparency builds trust.
Security and privacy don't require ugly interfaces. We obsess over details.
No manipulative popups. No confusing settings. No tricks to extract money or data.
On-device processing means lightning-fast performance with no network lag.
We treat users like intelligent adults. No forced onboarding. No nagging for reviews.
